# Connect TikTok and Configure Video Publish Settings

> Link your TikTok profile to Hivra and control privacy, audience, disclosure labels, duet, and stitch settings from the Composer before every publish.

Hivra connects to TikTok through the platform's official authorization flow. Once your account is linked, you can publish videos directly from the Hivra Composer with full control over who can view and interact with each post. TikTok requires certain disclosure settings for branded content, and Hivra surfaces those controls alongside the standard privacy and interaction toggles.

## Connect your TikTok account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    In Hivra, go to **Dashboard → Integrations** and find the **TikTok** tile.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the redirect">
    Click **Connect** to start the authorization flow.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Authorize in TikTok">
    You are redirected to TikTok's authorization page. Accept all requested permissions. If you decline any scope, the connection will not complete, and the integration card will show a soft-failure state.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify the connection card">
    After the redirect returns you to Hivra, your TikTok handle and profile picture appear on the integration card. The health chip reads **Healthy** once the monitoring job confirms the token is valid.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## TikTok publish settings

When you add TikTok as a destination in the Composer, a settings panel appears with the following options.

### Privacy and audience

Select who can view the published video using the **Audience** dropdown. The available options depend on your TikTok account settings:

| Option | Who can see it |
| ------------- | ----------------------------- |
| **Everyone**  | All TikTok users              |
| **Friends**   | Mutual followers only         |
| **Followers** | Accounts that follow you |
| **Only me** | Private — visible to you only |

The available options are determined by your TikTok account settings. If your account does not have access to a particular option (for example, if your account is new or under review), that option will not appear.

### Disclosure: branded content and paid partnerships

Enable the **Disclosure** toggle to label the video as branded content or a paid partnership. This is required by TikTok's policies when you are promoting a product, service, or brand in exchange for compensation.

When disclosure is on, you can specify:

* **Branded content** — you created the content in partnership with a brand.
* **Paid partnership** — a brand paid you to post this specific content.

<Warning>
  Failing to disclose paid partnerships when required violates TikTok's Community Guidelines and may result in content removal or account penalties. Enable the disclosure toggle whenever applicable.
</Warning>

### Duet controls

Toggle **Allow Duet** to let other TikTok users create a Duet with your video. This setting may be overridden by your TikTok account's own interaction settings if Duets are disabled at the account level.

### Stitch and Comment controls

Toggle **Allow Stitch** to let other users clip and remix your video in their own posts. The same account-level override caveat applies as with Duets. You may also toggle **Allow Comments** to allow users to comment on your post.

### Per-platform caption override

By default, the Composer's shared caption is used for all destinations. To write a different caption specifically for TikTok, click the TikTok tile in the **Customize Caption Per Platform** section and enter your TikTok-specific text. Hashtags included here count toward TikTok's caption character limit and apply only to the TikTok post.

## Reconnect your TikTok account

If the TikTok integration card in the dashboard overview shows **Attention**, your token has expired or been revoked by TikTok.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Integrations">
    Go to **Dashboard → Integrations** and locate the TikTok card.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Reconnect">
    Click **Reconnect** on the card to restart the OAuth flow.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Re-authorize in TikTok">
    Accept all permissions on TikTok's authorization page to issue a fresh token.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm the health chip">
    Wait for the monitoring job to run. The chip should return to **Healthy** after the check runs.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  TikTok tokens can expire after a period of inactivity or if you change your TikTok account password. If you update your TikTok credentials, reconnect the account in Hivra immediately to avoid publish failures.
